THE COMPANY BEHIND DESERTGREENER
Seawater BV, founded in 2020, brings together the inventors and developers of the DESERTGREENER technology with the goal of making it globally available. In collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics IBP in Holzkirchen, the DESERTGREENER, a solar-thermal device for producing fresh water from seawater and other saltwater sources, is being further developed.
The market potential for this technology is enormous. Given the growing demand for fresh water and the need for sustainable solutions, DESERTGREENER can make a significant contribution with the right investments and customers - on a global scale.
COMPANY HISTORY
-
The Concept and Origin: The idea for DESERTGREENER was born in 2008 by Carl Albrecht Waldstein, with the goal of combating the global water crisis.
-
In 2008, the first DESERTGREENER prototype was developed. It successfully demonstrated the ability to efficiently extract fresh water from seawater using solar energy.
-
In 2009, the first patent for the ground-breaking seawater desalination technology of DESERTGREENER was filed.
-
In 2017, DESERTGREENER entered into a collaboration with the Fraunhofer Institute for Building Physics (IBP). This collaboration provided valuable scientific support and enabled the optimization and further development of the desalination technology.
-
In 2018, DESERTGREENER received its second patent, covering additional technical improvements and efficiency enhancements of the technology. This patent strengthened the position of DESERTGREENER as a leading innovator in the water desalination sector.
-
In April 2024, the sale of DGRX tokens began, which are backed by up to 24% of the DESERTGREENER economy.
-
In July 2024, DESERTGREENER started preparations for the construction of the first pilot plants. These plants are designed to test the technology under real conditions and demonstrate the feasibility of large-scale projects in desert regions worldwide.
